The Bivvi Hostel Telluride

We enjoyed our stay at the Bivvi! Upon arrival, there was some mix-up with our beds that unfortunately took a few hours to correct, but in the end, we had a great stay! The manager was really helpful and kind, and his dog was a delightful addition to the hostel! We also made use of the outdoor hot tubs in the evening - clean and perfectly heated! Our rooms were also super clean, as was our ensuite bathroom. Beds were comfortable, and as far as hostels go for noise, this place was pretty good! Certainly not a rowdy party hostel, which we especially liked, but certainly still a great chill place to meet people, if desired. Amazing value for Telluride! We would definitely return.

What I really liked: - the bunk rooms are very spacious and everyone had a lot of space to put their gear - there was more availability to cook than anticipated; the kitchen had hot plates and basic pots/pans utensils to make simple dishes - the breakfast was basic but good - the hot tubs were lovely after a long day of skiing - the common area is well decorated and they did a great job with the furnishings/overall aesthetic of the hostel Room for improvement: - the WiFi is unusable for even the most basic functions, like opening a web page. For a remote location where most people don't have cell service they can rely on, the wifi should really be functional - a shuttle system (one used to exist?) Should really be implemented. At the very least a weekend shuttle would be useful when the bus only passes by 1x in each direction. The buses are very infrequent and in the current situation you really need a car - cleaning in bunk rooms could be more thorough. there were multiple items of trash under the bunks that obviously hadn't been cleaned out in awhile - the gear room isn't heated which means you can't leave your boots with your skis/boards overnight. Making the room heated or creating a separate space indoors for drying boots rather than taking them into the rooms would help with smelly rooms - the refrigerator in the kitchen area could be larger, it was packed full with the hostel only at a low capacity - more furniture/tables at the hot tub to put your towel/phone/drinks rather than setting them on the ground ***Additional note: make sure to arrive with food if you are shuttling from the airport. There isn't any food within walking distance and with the infrequent shuttle schedule, many people were stranded at the hostel without food if they didn't have a car

I don't expect much from a hostel but this place impressed! The building itself and common area is very nice. The rooms share a bathroom and have oversized lockers. And breakfast included. Better than some European hostels I've stayed at and that's saying something 👍👍👍. For the price you get to visit telluride without blowing 300-600 on a hotel.

I spent three nights here for a race in Telluride and it was great. It's an easy 20 minute drive into Telluride and a fraction of the price you'd pay in town. All the staff members were helpful and friendly and the hostel is insanely clean and well decorated. The rooms are big and the main lobby is created to be comfortable and social. All the guests I talked to were in the area for hiking, running or biking so it was a fun community and no one that wanted to stay up late being noisy since we all had early mornings ahead. I'll stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Stayed here for the Telluride Film Festival and loved it! The rooms have in-unit bathrooms, very comfortable beds, and a lighting system that keeps from disturbing others without having to fumble in the dark. It's a straight, 25ish minute shot to Telluride, which is very convenient. Plus, every employee who works here is so nice and will go out of their way to make your stay even a little more comfortable. Will definitely stay here any time I come to Telluride!

This was a perfect place for us to stay. The rooms were very comfortable. The shared kitchen and living room space was decorated in a mountain lodge comfort style. We met some amazing people at the continental breakfast. Every one was so friendly. Hot tub on the grounds. Shared campfire space if needed. Bar/lounge available. Something for everyone and in a great location not far from mountain village and telluride. More laid back than a stuffy hotel. Just my style. Loved it
